Join Vijaya Luxmi to learn the secrets of preparing wonderful East Indian food. Vijaya will share stories of her youth in India as well as the relationship between food and spirit in Indian food. We will all come together for a communal meal of the prepared food at the end of the hands-on instructional portion.
The menu will include:
Roti (Indian flat bread)
Dal (red lentils)
Aloo gobhi (potatoes with cauliflower)
Basmati rice
Raita (yogurt with spices)
Cilantro chutney
Potato and onion pakoras
Katchumber (simple salad of tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, cilantro, lime juice)
Halwa dessert (Cream of Wheat, butter, sugar, cardamom, almonds)
Please let us know if you are vegan: Vijaya will make accommodations for your diet. Class be held for a minimum of 10 people. Registration deadline is August 15.
